I was very excited to try and test out this pillow gel mat. It is the perfect size for a toddler! According to the description it is 12 x 16 inches. This one is the toddler size, but I do believe they also sell adult size as well.
First, the shipping was very fast. It arrived in just 2 days with Amazon Prime. It was well packaged and neatly in the box.
Now onto the features. It is great for reducing fevers. We all hate to see our children sick, and at times it can be hard to lower the fever. This gel pad is great for that. You can place the pad in the refrigerator for about an hour to chill and cool it even more. Also, you can either place the pad in the case it comes with or you can simply place it in your child's pillow. Some people put it in the pillow case, and others just place it on top of the pillow. I would think placing it on top of the pillow it would move around.
Do you have a night sweater like I do? My two year old sweats any time she is asleep. It can be cool in the house, and she will still be sweaty and clammy. The answer...this gel pad! It stays cool for a very long time. Especially if it has been in the refrigerator for a bit.
Have an achy neck? Try the gel pad on your aches and pain. Worried about your little one when it's hot outside? You can use frosty pad to keep them cool and with no fussiness.
Another feature is that it is soft and will actually contour to your child's pillow, head, and neck. You do not have to worry about it bunching up.
The gel will not leak, and you do not have to use water at all. No leaks, no mess equals happy momma!
If you or maybe someone else spills something on the pad clean up is easy. Just wipe it off! The packaging does state that it is not machine washable nor can be used in the dishwasher.
When you are finished using the pad it comes with its own storage case. It lays flat, so you can store it away and not worry about it taking up a lot of space.
I will admit, I used this pad first. That's what we mommas do right? We test out products first before letting our little ones try. We have to make sure everything is safe. :) I put the pad in the refrigerator about an hour or so before going to bed. I did find it was pretty cool. It wasn't extremely cold. I placed it in my pillowcase. It did seem like it kept chilled for a long time. I can't tell you an exact amount of time due to me falling asleep. ;) It was very relaxing, and I do like my pillow chilled. It helps falling asleep easier. Nobody likes a hot pillow!
Personally, I have horrible seasonal allergies and sinus problems. The result is massive migraines. I actually used the frosty gel pad to help ease my headache up. I try to find a position on my pillow to help with the pain, and this pad helps tremendously. It is cool, so me being a side sleeper, it helps the pain go away.
If my daughter ever has a fever this frosty gel pad will be my first go to while waiting for the medicine to kick in. In all honesty, this little wonder pad has many uses. I would recommend this especially if you have children. It has came in handy! It keeps me and my daughter cool throughout the night. Happy baby, happy momma!
